The results of the survey have your say are about to be released and with $56,000 allocated to Myalup we need the community to prioritize where that money will be best spent eg beach erosion shelters etc given that some of the land south of the beach eg: Cp is privately owned or trails around our beautiful lakes I believe that Myalupians response was not clearly defined and as the Shire will be consulting Myalupians re where they want the money to be spent as a priority can we use the web page to generate a ground swell of interest at the moment it seems the most votes went to a bike path between us and Binningup

Hello All
My thoughts / comments:
There is a copy of Shire correspondence from 28 Feb, note the wording is "$56,000 to ... planning for upgrades".
In other words this is not for on-ground construction, rather planning for inclusion of works in subsequent financial years.
Without adequate prior planning, nothing can be properly quoted / budgeted / executed. I see it as important for making headway.
The Shire are very good about securing funding via other existing funding streams wherever possible. For example our Ottrey Park improvements might fit in with parks & gardens maintenance / upgrade budgets for FY27 / FY28 ....
For a lot of the improvements, yes we will need to source funding through other avenues.
That is why I have been advocating for tackling small 'bite size' pieces at a time.
Best Regards
Kurt
